Is Job Posting dead?

If you are in need of recruiting talents you already realized that traditional methods of job advertising, such as job boards and LinkedIn postings, are less effective than they once were.

The decline in the efficacy of job postings results from various megatrends in the labour market that have drastically altered the landscape of workforce management and recruitment. The most significant are:

  1. The emergence of the Gig Economy. More individuals are opting for project-based or short-term roles, reducing the pool of candidates interested in full-time, long-term positions typically featured in job postings.
  2. Digitalization & Remote Work. This has led to a significant increase in the candidate pool as geographical barriers have diminished. Traditional job postings are not typically designed to filter through an extensively large number of applicants, making them less effective.
  3. Demographic Changes. Different generations have varying job preferences and expectations. For instance, Millennials and Gen Z are more interested in meaningful work, work-life balance, and career growth than previous generations. Traditional job postings often fail to highlight these aspects and hence may not appeal to these candidates.
